Page 58 c) iii)

Each minor team shall be entitled to carry a minimum of nine (9), to a maximum of fifteen (15), registered players;

Category Structure Chart (removed from the 2016 Handbook) – replaced by Play Age Categories and Distance Table – page 16 of the 2016 Softball BC Handbook

“Exception for BC – For the category of U19C a player that has played U18C in the prior year has the option to register in U19C in their final minor year. A player registered on an A or B team in the prior year is not eligible, and a player can only register in one category (minor or senior)”

This eligibility restriction is still in force, the intent of the motion was not to change eligibility, only to reduce duplication in the handbook.

Please note that the question of player eligibility in the situation explained above is only for a player’s eligibility when participating at a District playdown or a Provincial Championship, not for regular season or tournament play.

Eligibility of a player for regular season and tournament play is determined by the league and/or tournament directors, not by Softball BC . If a league agrees that a U19 age player who played on an A or a B classification team the previous year is eligible under their league interlock rules to play on a U19C roster that is their choice. The coach and club which that team is associated with has to be made aware the player will not be allowed to take part in Districts or Provincials, and their roster, when registered should reflect that.
