A detailed explanation of the required clinics for certification
A Rules Forum is held every two years (even numbered years) in conjunction with the Softball Canada Congress in November. A thorough knowledge of the of the playing rules and their interpretation will strengthen an official’s’ skills on the field
NEW FORMS AVAILABLE:
These two forms were developed as a result of two recommendations that arose from the UIC meeting at the 2013 AGM:
1. Develop a current database of all ejections/incidents/disciplinary actions.
2. Develop a venue for coaches to register complaints about umpires that will be directed to the DUIC to be evaluated and collected.
The DUICs wanted to start tracking disciplinary action taken with players, coaches, and managers. They wanted to establish a paper trail so that repeat offenders received the correct discipline if such action was required. They also felt that coaches needed a place to express their concerns about an umpire without having to get into an altercation on the field. The coach’s report will reviewed to determine if the DUIC needs to talk to an umpire to help them with a particular problem area.
