The BC Softball Umpire’s Association is pleased to let clubs and associations know they are again offering Casebook Chaos clinics, a four hour session with Susan Strafford, a member of Softball Canada’s official’s development committee (ODC), a level five certfied umpire and highly respected member of the international fastpitch umpire’s community.

Casebook Chaos is an opportunity for coaches at all levels to get an inside the lines look at our national softball rules and how they can be applied in different situations. Coaches will learn the interpretation of rules, using case studies of actual events which have taken place on the ball diamond. As well, Susan will instruct on how to approach an official during a game, how to make an appeal and when it is appropriate to do so.

Hosts are requested to provide:

Meeting space – classroom style chairs and tables with a suitable space to project images from an LCD projector

Registration of individual attendees

Club representative on the day of the clinic to manage check in and room set-up

Cost is $200.00 for up to a maximum of 10 registrations; additional registrants, up to a maximum of 5 additional attendees may register at a cost of $20.00 per person.

Optional for the host

Nutrtional break (hot/cold beverages, snacks)

Softball Canada rule books for each attendee, cost is an additional $15.00 per attendee

Please give Susan and the Softball BC office as much advance notice as possible, Susan is the only certified official for instructing this clinic and so the clinic will depend on Susan’s availability.

For clubs outside greater Vancouver area, contact the Softball BC office, we will work with each of you to manage the additional travel costs to keep the clinic affordable.
