All volunteer recipients must have been a resident of B.C. during the period for which the outstanding performance is claimed.

VOLUNTEER AWARDS

Zeone Andrijaszyn Volunteer of the Year

An individual who represents the highest level of dedication and volunteerism for SBBC.

Unsung Hero

Person at the Local Sports Organization level without whom our sport would not succeed.

 

COACHING/BUILDER CATEGORIES

Bryan Sask Coach of the Year

Coached at a Provincial, BC Summer Games, Western, Canada Games and/or a Canadian Championships and;

Represented B.C. with distinction at those competitions.

Community Coach of the Year

Has displayed the qualities of fair play and leadership.

Has led their team to success on the field.  Success being measured by both wins but more importantly skill development and player retention.

Brian Joe Award - Sportsperson/Builder

Has served meritoriously in more than one capacity for a period of at least 10 years, not necessarily consecutive, as a volunteer, and/or;

Has served at the Association, District or Provincial capacity fro a minimum of 2 years.

The entire minor athlete category recognizes individuals who show exemplary traits on the field, with their teammates and in the community they live.  Not neccesarily only success on the field, but these individuals are great team-mates and great citizens.

Men's and Women's Service Award

Has been a dedicated and active individual who has served in the men's and women's community as a coach, trainer, mentor, Local Sport Organization executive, and a continuously positive voice for the game of Softball for at least 10 years.

Minor Service Award

Has been a dedicated and active individual who has served in the minor community as a coach, trainer, mentor, Local Sport Organization executive, and a continouly postive voice for the game of Softball for at least 10 years.

Umpire Service Award

 

BC Athlete of Distinction

Has represented Softball B.C. with distinction in Softball competition in B.C. and/or Canada and whose career has brought great credit to Softball and high respect for the individual.  

Has compiled an outstanding record which extends over a period of years in Softball and;

Has represented Softball B.C. as a team with distinction in Softball competition and whose example has brought great credit to Softball.

Minor Team of the Year

Has represented Softball B.C. as a team with distinction in Softball competition and whose example has brought great credit to Softball and;

Shown leadership through mentoring and supporting younger teams and players in their association.

 

ASSOCIATION CATEGORY

MVP Association of the Year - Small

Association that has grown the game at the grassroots level and has 200 or less members.

Has developed innovative ways of developing athletes while staying focused on building from the ground up.

Has developed programs and/or community events to support and showcase the sport of Softball.

MVP Association of the Year - Large

Association that has grown the game at the grassroots level and has more than 200 members.

Has developed innovative ways of developing athletes while staying focused on building from the ground up.

Has developed programs and/or community events to support and showcase the sport of Softball.



 

Individual and Team Awards

Softball B.C. annually awards winners in the following categories: Official of the Year, Coach of the Year, Senior Athlete of the Year, Masters Athlete of the Year, Minor Athlete of the Year, Senior Team of the Year, Masters Team of the Year, and Minor Team of the Year.

The presentations are made at the Annual Awards Banquet in October, therefore, nominations and suggestions should be forwarded to the appropriate Director prior to the September Board meeting.
